Our friend Chahira from Walima club gave us two challenges for this months' competition, Basboussa and Kochari.
We only have to do one recipe, I originally decided to do Basboussa. I have never made kochari and I was curious about it, I saw it in a lot of egyptian movies.
Even though I didn't have enough time, I put other recipes aside to do this.
Thank you Chahira for mentionning these recipes for our challenge and I hope everyone enjoys them. /

This month challenge is an Egyptian recipe presented for us by our friend Chahira El khabira
Thank you Chahira for this nice recipe.
There are many, many versions of Basboussa which you find in many Arabic countries. I absolutely love this version with coconut, it's not only easy to make, it's also delicious./

Smen is a kind of preserved aged butter used in Arab and Maghreb cooking. It is described as the most popular cooking butter in Morocco and the Middle East, it's similar to Eastern Ghee, it's left to ferment in a cool dry place.
With its deep, pungent aroma and distinctive flavor, it enhances many of Morocco's savory dishes, especially couscous and tagines. /
Here are some of my recipes that I prepared with Smen. /
